 How we conduct an audit
* We interview the facility manager to identify areas of high risk ( where spills are common)
* We then identify all the facilities normal pedestrian and occupant areas of use.
* We then breakdown each area into risk categories.
Note: Risk categories being as follows:
Risk Class "A": Walkways normally dry and free of contaminants
Risk Class "B": Walkway areas occasionally contaminated
Risk Class "C": Walkway areas normally wet and where shoes are worn
* We then make a diagram of the facility or obtain a floor plan if possible.
* We then establish zones within the facility and then within each zone we assign a risk
class to designated test samples.
* We then test the sample area using the ANSI A1264.2-2001 Standard and the NFSI
101-A Standards. Each test is verified and monitored for accuracy.
*We then take all the data and download it into a secure data bank.
*Then a detailed report of the results along with areas pinpointed as potential hazards
are forwarded to the company for review.
*Recommendations are then made for follow up testing to specific areas of concern and
the recommended frequency of testing. Such as monthly, quarterly or yearly.
Note: All information is compiled and saved , showing a pattern of due diligence and a proactive approach to safety. This data could prove very helpful in the event of a slip and fall accident.

The National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI) has developed a "universal' walkway test standard for WET SCOF testing. NFSI 101-A defines "High Traction" walkways as those which exhibit a wet SCOF of > 0.6 when tested with the NFSI certified tribometer.
